Planning -Ensures development and implementation of EHS roles and responsibilities -Work with EHS Manager to ensure EHS resources are aligned and committed -Ensure the development and implementation of all EHS plans and processes for the assigned area/project
Organizing -Supports the development and implementation EHS plans (i.e. schedule, organizational chart, etc.) -Implement and communicate all necessary EHS strategies within area/project. Informs construction /project management of progress and complies with all Flint reporting requirements -Align area/project objectives and goals with divisional EHS strategic plans
Monitoring -Conduct annual performance management reviews for all direct reports -Monitor EHS performance, data/statistical reporting and trends for possible impacts on EHS performance -Audit processes to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, consistency and client satisfaction -Ensure all monitoring / reporting systems are in place and adhered to -Provide and report project performance to divisional leadership team. Monitors project activities, ensuring compliance to all Flint and client safety policy and procedure guidelines -Ensure all monitoring /reporting systems are in place and adhered to, ensuring the accurate daily progress reporting and safety compliance statistics
Leadership -Acts as the focal point between management and labor ensuring details and expectations regarding EHS performance are clear and understood -Provides coaching/mentoring to supervisory and labor staff and champions the incident investigation process and issue resolution follow up -Influence others, throughconsistent model management: “walks the talk” philosophies, solid business fundamentals and sound ethics -Challenges the way we do business, sees the big picture and keeps an eye on long-term success by turning safety challenges into meaningful direction -Acts as a resource on all project task activities providing coaching/mentoring to senior management -Provides direction for EHS activities, ensuring compliance to all Flint policy and procedure guidelines
Formal Education Required: -Post Secondary Diploma/Certificate -Post Secondary certification from an accredited college, university or technical school in Environmental, Health and Safety -Equivalent professional certification from an accredited professional association
Professional Designation: -Required – *CSO or *CRSP, **CSP, ***CHSC designation (*Construction Safety Officer,**Canadian Registered Safety Professional, ***Certified Safety Professional, Certified Health and Safety Consultant)
Minimum Experience Required: -5-7 years in an industrial, industrial maintenance and/or construction environment -Excellent technical, planning, organization,communication and leadership skills -Proven proficiency in an EHS supervisory or project coordination capacity. Formalized supervision and project management training is considered an asset
