Job Description
  • Responsible for the timely execution of the project construction quality control activities within the applicable discipline. Ensures the inspection documentation is completed within the designated timeline.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the quality control protocol for the discipline quality team members.
  • Identify and execute client quality deliverables as per the project Construction Quality Plan.
  • Ensures all required quality documents are compiled for turnover packages in order to meet project deadlines and schedules.
  • Ensures the project quality inspection and test plan requirements are followed, signed off both internally and by the Client.
  • Involved with the Nonconformance Report (NCR) and rework reporting system and work trend analysis.
  • Ensures responses to internal personnel and Client questions are addressed in regards to NCRs, Corrective Action Report (CARs), Quality Surveillance Report (QSRs), and Preventative Action Reports (PARs)
  • Ensures Preventative Action Requests are generated, closed and signed off by applicable staff.
  • Views and submits the submittal of Request for Information (RFIs) to the client. Close out each RFI as work is completed as per disposition by the Construction group.
  • Prepare and participate in the Clients Audit of Flint's Construction and Quality of the project deliverables.
  • Reviews the Construction Work Package (CWP) to fully understand the project deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and support of the project's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including regular reporting to the Construction Management Team and to the function.
  • Participates in the lessons learned process and drive proposed changes that will enhance the project's success.
  • Gather information for 24 Hour Witness and hold notification for inspection and submit to the Client.
  • Review the CWP, resolve any deficiencies, and submit to the Client's Quality Assurance for review.
  • Collaborate with other functions to enhance project success on an as needed basis required by the Technical Services Lead.
  • Daily reporting of all field inspections as per the Quality Inspection Flow Chart and Work Instructions.
  • Interface with all functions/positions including, equipment, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil/structural inspectors, field technicians, technical assistants, and field superintendents responsible for the test of systems.
  • Interface with the Client's Quality department members as required.
  • Interface with the workface planning teams to understand the construction schedule.
  • Attend and contribute information during team meetings with regards to current/outstanding issues and/or weekly process.
  • Provides leadership, direction and support to junior members of the quality team.
  • Complete and submit monthly documents to the appropriate departments. (e.g. timesheets, expense reports, etc.)
  • Post, review and print off any required information from FDMS (Flint Document Management System) which pertains to current tasks, responsibilities and projects.

Job Requirements
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Projects, Outlook and Excel)
  • Strong understanding of International Codes and Standards of the applicable Discipline.
  • Civil Inspectors: CSA 23.1 to 23.4 and NFPA 24
  • Electrical Inspectors: CSA C22.1 (CEC) and IEEE and ISA
  • Mechanical Inspectors: API 510, 650/653, 686
  • Structural Inspectors: CSA W47.1 & W59
  • Instrumentation Inspectors: CSA C22.1 (CEC) and IEEE and ISA
  • Welding Inspector: ASME B31.1 & B31.3, CSA Z662, API570; ASME I, II, V, VIII, IX and ABSA
  • Minimum of College Diploma/Certification required.
  • Journeyman Trade Certification would be an asset.
  • Professional designation preferred.
  • Civil Inspectors: CET designation is required.
  • Mechanical Inspectors: API 510 & Valid Eye Test
  • Structural Inspectors: CWB level 2; Valid Eye Test
  • Welding Inspector: CWB Level 2 & API570; Valid Eye Test; or CWB Level 3
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years' experience required.
  • Periodic visits to the project work site may be required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and Safety rules of each site must be adhered to at all times.
