•Have an excellent understanding of all scheduling theory and be proficient with use of Primavera - P6 •Setup Project in P6 to ensure development of detailed level schedule to establish a logically linked Resource loaded Integrated Baseline Project Schedule •Develop, maintain Level 4 detailed work schedules, and update daily and/or weekly to produce look-aheads (typically 3-week, 4-week and 6-week look-aheads) and re-baseline as requested and required by the project management team •Conduct periodic review meetings with the stakeholders to update progress % complete, actualize start & completion dates •Aid in development and maintenance of monthly plan for manpower (histogram) and planned progress curves for overall project progress and discipline quantity based progress •Generate schedule deliverables – critical path, key project milestone schedule, Areawise and Disciplinewise summary schedule, schedule basis – a narrative document, and conduct schedule risk analysis to establish the schedule contingency •Constantly analyze and monitor the Critical Path, and analyze SPI & Float •Develop Schedule Basis document for Baseline Schedule •Develop templates for periodic schedule updates •Support process development, and support project control attest and review with PC Lead and Functional Manager of Project Controls •Manage enterprise data including resources, calendars and EPS. •Conduct periodic site visits to liaise with site Construction Manager, Superintendents and / or the Foremen to confirm conformance to the construction schedule •Together with the Change Coordinator (where applicable), assist or undertake the implementations, progress tracking, analysis and reconciliation of changes. •Generate What if scenarios and recommend mitigation plans to the Construction team •Issue schedule change notice (SCN’s) when there is an impact on the schedule due to client deliverables •Analyze the impact to project schedule when delays are brought forth by other functions (eg. Material delay, manpower delay, weather impact, etc.) •Review, sign, and load approved changes (change orders, EWOs, forecast trends, etc.) •Provide mentorship and guidance to Junior/Intermediate Schedulers present within the team. •Attend and contribute information during team meetings with regards to current / outstanding issues •Schedule periodic review meetings with Construction staff and client and Lead daily / weekly schedule update / review meetings & advise engg. / construction team of impacts to criticalpath. •Designate for the Project Controls Lead as required. •Prepare schedule summary report and Schedule narrative for periodic reports •Interface with Estimating to set up WBS, Activities & Resources •Interface with Work Face Planners to gather schedule information – Area – Sub-Area WBS, EWPs / CWPs / FIWPs, Quantities, Work-Hours. •Interface with Construction Management to define & maintain Area sequencing, interdiscipline logic, activity duration, working / shift schedule (Calendar setup) and to develop periodiclook-aheads •Interface with SCM Interface to set up equipment and material delivery dates and subcontract award dates. •Interface with client, vendor / fabrication shop / module yard and EPC house. •Interface with Project Controls team members to align the System input between the Cost and Schedule •Collaborate with other functions to enhance project success on an as needed basis required by the Project Controls / Progress / Schedule Lead •Communicate the schedule details effectively to internal clients, including Project Controls Lead, Project Management & Corporate Management •Prepare & issue baseline schedule and schedule basis document •Issue Schedule updates and prepare schedule variance report. •Prepare status reports for material delivery and subcontract award – issue variance report. •Provide data for facility project status report. •Develop and update monthly progress and commodity histogram and curves •Provide schedule input to PRISM on a periodic basis •Backup the Primavera Schedule on a periodic basis •Resource loading (Quantity and work-hours) in P6 •Develop level 4 project schedule and resource loading / updates •Prepare look ahead construction for the bi-weekly Client schedule review meeting, including internal pre-review with CM •Discuss impacts to critical path and near critical paths with CM/PM, identify any schedule slippage, and notify management to take mitigative measures •May be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Expert computer skills: Primavera P6 v7. •Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), MS Project •Supervision Received: Minimal Supervision •Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise, Mentor 2-4 Schedulers •Budgetary Responsibilities: Ensure that the resource loading on the schedule is consistent with the current Budget quantities and work hours.
Formal Education:
•Minimum of College Diploma/Certification required. •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science with specialization in Maths, Actuarial Science preferred •Master in Business Administration will be considered as an added advantage.
Professional Designation:
•Certification with the following organization preferred: Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) - CCC / CCE Certification or Project Management Institute (PMI) – PMI-SP Certification
Experience
•Minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant experience required. •Proven proficiency in scheduling within the industrial construction environment. (Oil & Gas preferred)
