Job Description
o As a working supervisor, provide coordination and supervision of the assigned crew
o Implement Flint's Safety ManagementSystem in all activities
o Ensure that safety is the #1 priority in all activities
o Obtain all permits, conduct pre-job meetings and ensure that task hazard assessments are performed for all tasks
o Perform vehicle/equipment audits, inspect 3rd party equipment and perform regular site inspections
o Report all incidents and/or job concerns to the field coordinator immediately
o Demonstrate leadership by participating fully in such things as job observations, near miss and HID reporting and follow-up, monthly attests, site inspections, incident investigations,weekly and monthly safety meetings, and tailgatemeetings
o Work closely with Dispatch to plan, organize, direct and control of all activities related to the site managementof Flint and sub-contract personnel
o Identify and mitigate safety hazards
o Communicate and document work progress, schedule, budget variance and employee safety performance
o Liaise with the client to proactively address scope changesand/or concerns with quality of work
o Act as a coach/mentor to employees for technical and/or resource utilization
o Seek out continuous improvement opportunities
o Ensure that all employees and sub-contractors have the required training for the work being performed
o Ensure that all work procedures and MSDS's are current and are utilized
o Ensure that the worksite is kept in a neat and orderly condition
o Ensure that all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner (work tickets, detailed job and cost reports, efficiency loss reports, change orders, etc.)
o Perform a final inspection with the client representative before rigging out from the work site
o Ensure that a post job cleanup is done and that all rental equipment is returned as soon as the job is completed
o Provide employee and customer focused services in all activities
o Fulfill commitment made to others
o Foster a cooperative and positive work atmosphere
Job Requirements
The minimum requirement is a high school diploma and training and professional development from an accredited industry association. A post-secondary diploma or degree from an accredited college, university or technical school, or journeyman certification ina relevant trade, or a Class 1A or 3A license would be considered an asset.
Requirements for this position are a minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience as a tradesman or equipment operator in an industrial or commercial work environment; previous supervisory experience would be an asset. The ideal candidate will display sound planning, management, supervisory, communication, organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills, and the ability to lead and train others in a dynamic business environment
A comprehensive knowledge of industry safe work standards and quality control is essential. Aworking knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point) is an asset.
